Australia – beautiful down under!

By

Australia is the smallest continent as we know, yet it is big enough to explore and enjoy a new world. Australia is a popular holiday destination. It pays, therefore, not worth for a week to go to Australia. Especially today, when there are cheap flights and cheap hotel reservations, it should not be a problem to find something interesting for yourself. Here are some ideas:

Sydney
Sydney is where most tourists arrive. And the first encounter was very enjoyable! Sydney is well situated on the coast and is a very modern city. Sydney itself is a resort and has kilometers of beaches. Camp Cove are popular beaches, Bondi Beach, Shark Bay, Balmoral Beach and Manly Beach, which also is surfed. Well known Sydney Opera House, of course, a nice piece of modern architecture. Kings Cross and Darlinghurst are the entertainment areas of Sydney. Do you want good food then it is best to go to The Rocks.

Canberra
Canberra is the capital of Australia, but still not very familiar with tourists. There are some interesting buildings, including the Old Parliament House, the Court, the National Library and the Australian National Gallery. The latter is a museum with many national treasures and art. The Botanic Gardens with over 3000 native plant species is worth a visit. Canberra is located near the National Park Tidbinbilla Game Reserve, a huge nature reserve with many endemic species such as kangaroos and koalas.

Melbourne
Melbourne is the capital of ‘Garden State’ Victoria. Melbourne is a city of immigrants, and a great diversity. Famous is the National Gallery with a magnificent art collection. Also worth seeing are the colonial houses, Captain Cook’s Cottage and the Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens. Blue Dandenongs is a popular recreation area, just outside Melbourne. A nice highway runs from Melbourne to Adelaide. The route is called Great Ocean Road, and then performs along the coast. Australia has a beautiful coastline, caused by erosion. The rock pillars in the sea are stunning. Recommended is a trip to Tasmania.

Brisbane
Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, a popular holiday destination. This busy, but very green city is lively and modern set up. There are several attractions, which are similar to those of other large cities: beautiful buildings, interesting museums and art galleries. There is also a botanical garden and a zoo. The latter has received much publicity in 2006 by the deceased Steve Irwin. Brisbane is also a popular beach destination. The area south of the city called the Gold Coast, 32 km long, golden sandy beach. The Gold Coast includes Surfers Paradise, is an area where many surf. For the Australians themselves, this is a popular destination. North of Brisbane lies the Sunshine Coast coastline, including the resort of Noosa Heads. Nearby Noosa Heads contains many beautiful nature, this is also a popular spot for whale watching. A good way to see the best of Brisbane is to take service of car hire, this way you can go where and when you want and not rely on a group or a public transportation.

Perth
Perth is the capital of Western Australia. This bright, modern city is situated on the Swan River. There is a lively port with bars and restaurants, especially in Northbridge. Worth a visit is the museum of the VOC ship Batavia, obviously this is very interesting especially for the Dutch. Nice trips go to Fremantle, a colorful harbor and the island of Rottnest. The latter is a real holiday island surrounded by clear waters and beautiful beaches. Namburg National Park is also recommended, with Pinnacles. These are fossil remains of an ancient forest, this stabbing above the ground. At Monkey Mia dolphins can be spotted.

New Zealand
There are many beautiful places in New Zealand. Green country with nice people and a lot of places of interest. You are still waiting? Log on to internet and look for cheap Auckland accommodation, you’ll see a lot of hotels at reasonable rates.

We’d like to thank Miss Sue Lang on this great contribution to our website.

“Australia –  officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a country in the southern hemisphere comprising of the mainland which is the world’s smallest continent (also largest island)[8], the major island of Tasmania, and numerous other islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.N4 Neighbouring countries include Indonesia, East Timor, and Papua New Guinea to the north, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia to the north-east, and New Zealand to the south-east.

For around 40,000 years before European settlement commenced in the late 18th century, the Australian mainland and Tasmania were inhabited by around 250 individual nations of indigenous Australians. After sporadic visits by fishermen from the immediate north, and European discovery by Dutch explorers in 1606, the eastern half of Australia was claimed by the British in 1770 and initially settled through penal transportation to the colony of New South Wales, founded on 26 January 1788. The population grew steadily in the following years; the continent was explored, and during the 19th century another five largely self-governing Crown Colonies were established.

On 1 January 1901, the six colonies became a federation, and the Commonwealth of Australia was formed. Since Federation, Australia has maintained a stable liberal democratic political system and remains a Commonwealth realm. The population is just over 21.7 million, with approximately 60% concentrated in and around the mainland state capitals of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Darwin. The nation’s capital city is Canberra, located in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Technologically advanced and industrialised, Australia is a prosperous multicultural country and has excellent results in many international comparisons of national performance such as health care, life expectancy, quality-of-life, human development, public education, economic freedom, and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. Australian cities also routinely rank among the world’s highest in terms of livability, cultural offerings, and quality of life. It is a member of the United Nations, G-20 major economies, Commonwealth of Nations, ANZUS, OECD, and the WTO.” Article resource:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia

Be patient. The time is come from the things you do without them.

Tolerate another’s truth in the same way that you want yours to be tolerated.

Have faith. Have faith in law as the best instrument for human coexistence in justice, as the normal destiny of the right, in peace, as a substitute kind of justice, and above all, have faith in freedom, without which no no law, justice, no peace.
